Game Announcement: Ji Dian Station, Episode 18: Give Me Shelter
On Saturday, October 25th, 2008, at 2:00 PM in Kirkland, WA

In the office of Olin Thomjack...

Allyn Moore approached the open door to Olin Thomjack's office. "What's the status, Moore?" Thomjack didn't look up from the paperwork before him.

The young engineer shifted from foot to foot. "Eden's dome has been patched and braced, but..."

"But you're not sure how long it will hold?"

"No, Sir," Moore said, taking a moment to breathe deeply, "I'm concerned about Midian's dome, sir." Without giving the senior engineer any time to respond, the new engineer jumped into the details. "Midian may be the newer bay, Sir, but her dome is older than Eden's. If Eden's has cracked, I'm sure the other isn't far behind."

The engineer managed to catch her supervisor's attention. Sitting up, Thomjack eyed her, "What do you think the best course of action is then?"

"I think we should be scanning the dome structure for stresses before anything else."

"Sounds like a good start, Moore."

"Thank you, Sir." Allyn Moore left the room a little lighter than when she entered it.

Thomjack scratched his thigh absently as he turned his attention back to the diagnostic report on reactor 2. The problem child of the station had been acting up again and this time, Thomjack was tempted to just leave it shutdown for the time being. Now, if he could just shake that feeling that disaster was looming around the corner.

Ji Dian Station: Storm Clouds - Sept. 15th
A station comm monitor near you buzzes to life and a ping ping pang beeps from it as the station logo appears, then rotates three times and fades to black. It is replaced with the words: Ji Dian Station Report, which in turns fades and is replaced by the image of a young, attractive blonde woman against a orange-red background.

Hi, this is Sally Calypso coming to you down the pipeline with the news of Ji Dian Station. I want to thank JD for approving this new weekly broadcast. It couldn't have come at a more important time. With the arrival of Director Jasper Levesque and his Blues Stars...

Blue Stars Logo
An image blinks to life on the orange-red background; a black square in which an image appears:
...tensions are high on the station. Both inhabitants of the lower decks of Ji Dian and business owners are upset by the restrictions placed on departure and arrival of ships; there is concern of trade dropping off. Rumors of unregistered denizens deep below the engineering sections of the station are taking up arms to keep the valiant Blue Stars from exploring the bottom levels of the station and questioning the squatters are popping up all over the station. Sources close the Huo "Cheerful" Evens report that the Blue Stars will be moving to identify those far below and take appropriate action, such as taking known criminals into custody and returning escaped servants serving out an indenture sentence.

Gadar O'Connell
The image changes again:
Noted author Gadar O'Connell, who was recently involved in his own brush with ruffians from below decks, has announced his action to help reduce tensions aboard Ji Dian Station. This coming Saturday at 3 p.m. station time, Gadar is calling a meeting at what is rapidly becoming the central hub for the intermingling of the classes, fifth level bar Lucky Lucy's. He states the topic will be why we should consider cooperation with Levesque and his Blue Stars and to illuminate the average station inhabitant of what is really going on far below our day-to-day lives. Sounds Shiny!

The image fades to black.

Station gossip says that the Post Master General has had his heart shot with cupid's arrow. A recent salvage job uncovered an assassin. Was the target a prominent member of the station's staff? Sources report that several of the level three upper-crust are enjoying slumming it on lower decks. Is this the new fad or simply socialites looking for drops or doxy to ease the ennui of their daily lives?

Thanks for tuning in and this is Sydney Calypso promising that every tick in every place, we'll be watching.

Welcome the 5th episode of Ji Dian Station, Storm Clouds! It will take place this Saturday, September 15th at 2:00 pm at Rory’s place.

We are looking for a regular Game Deputy (Assistant Storyteller), or two, to help us out on a regular basis, or even just people interested in a regular NPC stint. Please contact a Game Marshall in person or drop us a line at storytellers@jidianstation.org if you or someone you know is interested.

We are also mulling over a change of date. Would you the players be willing to change regular play of the game from the third Saturday of the month to the fourth? There is small scheduling conflict with another game and we are the smaller game so it would be easier for us to move, however our loyalties are first to our players and if the move would be inconvenient or cause difficulties, there is no need to move- it would just be nice. Please email us your thoughts on the matter, or even if your opinion is that you don't care.

We are also seeking people who are willing to help out with costuming or prop-making. If this is something you're good at and would like to help- you guessed it! Talk to a Game Marshall or email us.

We hope you enjoy the excitement of Storm Clouds!

Ji Dian Station Character Building Day
Ji Dian Station Character Building Day

What: Spend some quality time with the Ji Dian Station Story Telling Staff figuring out what you're going to play and put the character creation system through its paces.
When: April 21st, 2007, 2pm to 8pm
Where: The Clark Zoo in Kirkland, WA (see www.jidianstation.org for directions)

The first game of Ji Dian Station is fast approaching, on the 19th of May, and if you're going to play, you're going to need a character.

On Saturday, April 21st, 2007, the Story Tellers will be holding one last test: The test of character creation by the uninitiated. Okay, that's pretty much everyone but Rory and Jim, but never you mind that!

What do you need to bring? You only need to bring yourself and your three character concepts and maybe some pencils to write with, though we'll try to have plenty on hand.

What will we have for you? We will have character sheets and guidance for taking your concept into the Black.

Ji Dian Station is a live action role playing game set against the back drop of Joss Whedon's television series Firefly and, the subsequent movie, Serenity. Ji Dian Station is a private game for the friends and family of the Story Tellers.

The Story Tellers love making new friends.

If you wish to come, please R.S.V.P. to storytellers at jidianstation.org .

Shadows of a Crimson Dawn: Of Murderers and Theives
“Of Murderers and Thieves”, the twenty-sixth game of Shadows of a Crimson Dawn is nearly upon us. Since the death of Shamis O’Rielly at the hands of the Morisey, Special Branch operatives have been a more visible on the streets around London. Mortals either do not notice or do not care about their presence.

Something is coming, a change on the wind. It’s even as if the birds know for they are rarely seen sitting in one place for any length of time.

We are looking for a game location, so if you wish to score some extra XP for hosting, we'll be glad to give it if we use your suggestion. Also, we're looking for narrators for the next game, so if you want to help out, please let us know.

One last bit, we've put up the game schedule through April.

Shadows of a Crimson Dawn: Moving Targets
Game 24 of Shadows of a Crimson Dawn is nearly upon us and the stage has been set. Recent assaults by the Engineer upon the Kindred of London have left their mark, the death toll from her rain of fire is believed to be in the hundreds, the damage to buildings and the city's infrastructure is beyond measure. After the last of the firey stone fell from the sky, the slagged remains of her device, capable of pulling rock from outer space was found north of London.

Many hope the worst is over for now. Others, and perhaps they're right, fear the worst is yet to come.

Please join us on the 29th of April at the Nexus!
